“So very sorry to hear of Paul's passing. Having grown up in Galva as well, I've known Paul for quite some time. I really didn't get to know Paul well until we worked together in the punch room at Midwest Industries in Ida Grove. I was working the night shift when Paul joined the crew and he meshed with the group almost immediately. We were impressed with his strong work ethic, his contagious smile, sharp whit and his unbelievable sense of humor. He and I soon became break and lunch buddies even giving each other nicknames...he was Raul and I was Heffe'...nicknames that stuck with us for the duration. Paul rose to the position of brake press operator which was one of the most prestigious jobs in the punch room because it required great set-up skills, concentration and a sharp eye for detail and quality...he mastered it! I can't begin to tell you just how many belly laughs we had as a group during that time...Paul was the kind of guy who made it fun at work as well as being a solid member of the night crew team...he was well liked and admired by all. So while my heart is heavy, I have a great big smile on my face for having known him. Rest in peace Raul, our thoughts and prayers are with you, your friends and your family. God bless.”
