Wilbur Francis Ferrin

May 10, 1939 — August 28, 2019

 Wilbur F. Ferrin, the son of Horace and Mary (Hanson) Ferrin was born May 10, 1939, in Marcus, Iowa. His childhood years were spent on the family farm. He attended school and graduated from Grand Meadow School south of Marcus. After high school, Wilbur went to the DeVry School of Technology in Chicago where he graduated with an electrician degree.  Following college, Wilbur served in the U.S. Army.

 On April 24, 1966 he was united in marriage to Linda Griffee. They made their home at Spirit Lake, then Iowa City before moving to the Des Moines area from 1970-1991. They lived in Richardson, TX from 1991-1996. Wilbur worked for the telephone company. After his retirement, Wilbur worked for Ericsson Telecommunications for six years.

 In 1996, they moved to Table Rock Lake in southern Missouri. Wilbur loved living on the lake and spent much of his time fishing, woodworking, and being outdoors. Wilbur and Linda enjoyed attending shows in Branson and most of all, spending time with family and friends.

 On Wednesday, August 28, 2019, Wilbur passed away at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, MO, at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Mary Ferrin; and two brothers, Clifford Marshall Ferrin and Harold Raymond Ferrin; mother and father-in-law, Jane (Below) Griffee and Henry Drexel Griffee; and one sister-in-law, Margaret Ferrin.

 He will lovingly be remembered by his wife, Linda D. (Griffee) Ferrin; son, Brian Todd Ferrin; daughter, Melissa Sue Ferrin; son-in-law, Marcelino Ramírez Ibáñez; three grandchildren, Gabriela Itavii Ramírez Ferrin, Bianca Joy Ramírez Ferrin, and Drexel Daniel Ramírez Ferrin; and sister-in-law, Judy Ferrin.

SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
