Wesly Grohe

Wesly Michael Grohe, the son of Michael Grohe and Tammy (Bumann) Olson, was born in Cherokee, IA on November 11, 1985. He attended the local schools, and received his high school diploma through Job Corp in Denison, IA. He then went directly into the workforce, doing various odd jobs around the area. His current position was working as a finisher on fertilizer tanks for Den Hartog Industries in Calumet, IA. Wes was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed participating in Cherokee Rec activities, playing X-Box, throwing darts and cheering on his favorite teams--the Dallas Cowboys and the NY Yankees. A day "well-spent" meant hanging out with friends and drinking Mt. Dew. He had an outgoing personality, and was a friend to almost everyone he met. Faith and family were very important to Wes. He was a good father to his sons, and loved spending time with his nephews. Wesly left this world, much too early, on Monday, April 13, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Grohe, and his grandfathers, Gordon Grohe and Loren Kuhrts. Left to cherish his memory are his mother and step-father, Tammy and Mike Olson of Quimby; two sons, Devontez and Parker; a sister, Christi Grohe of Des Moines, IA; two brothers, Toby Grohe of Iowa City, IA, and Taylor Grohe of Hartley, IA; his grandparents, Nona Grohe of Aurelia, IA, Mary Kuhrts of Apache Junction, AZ, and Jim and Lorna Olson of Cleghorn, IA; his nephews, Izik, Tate and Gage; other relatives and many friends.
