Troy Sand

Troy Robert Sand was born to John Sand and Sandra Sanow in Le Mars, Iowa on Christmas Eve, 1966. He entered into eternal rest on May 23, 2018.

Troy was a father, son, brother, uncle and farmer. He loved his three boys with all his heart. He was their super fan in all the sports they participated in—a loud voice in the crowd. He was a fantastic cook, and the family will miss his holiday prime rib, sweet potatoes, calico beans and homemade rolls.

Left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Cole, Connor and Caden; his daughter Toni (Eric) Proctor of Durham, ME; his mother, Sandra Sanow-Means of Buckeye, AZ, his father, John and stepmother Patty Sand of Marcus; brothers, Tom (Lauren) Sand of Vermillion, SD, Brad (Chastity) Sand, Jonny (Diane) Sand, all of Marcus, and Ryan Johnston of Fort Mohave, AZ;  sisters, Kristinia (Jim) Brinkmann of Vermillion, SD, Jill (Jay) Vrieze of Le Mars, IA, and Jana (Dan) Weston of Buckeye, AZ; his grandmother, Edith Sand of Marcus, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be directed to an account for his sons that has been established at the Farmers State Bank in Marcus.
