Timothy 'Tim' LaVerne Alberts, the son of LaVerne 'Jake' and Ella (Rahbusch) Alberts was born March 23, 1962, in Cherokee, IA. His childhood years were spent in Cherokee where he attended school and graduated from Washington High School in 1980. While in high school he excelled in basketball, football, and baseball. In 1981, Tim enlisted and served in the U.S. Army and served 7 years before being honorably discharged in 1988.
Tim worked for Christensen Brothers, Herbst Construction, and most recently Grave's Construction. He was a heavy crane operator and thoroughly enjoyed working on large scale projects. On November 28, 1996, Tim was engaged to his fiance of over 20 years Lilly Eutsler.
Tim enjoyed playing cards with his family, playing pool, and going to the casino. Christmas was his favorite holiday and he loved shopping for those closest to him. He would never turn down a baked ham dinner, and always looked forward to spending time with his family and friends.
On December 31, 2016, Tim passed away unexpectedly at a Sioux City hospital at the age of 54. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Ella Alberts; one sister, Tamera in infancy; and one brother, Terry Alberts.
He is survived by his fiance, Lilly Eutsler; sons, William Sisemore of Cherokee, IA, and Donathon (Amanda) Rodgers of Cherokee, IA; two daughters, Jennifer and Shari Alberts, both of North Carolina; one brother, Rick (Kim) Alberts of Boonville, MO; two sisters, Rhonda (Jon) Peterson of Cherokee, IA, and Lori Alberts of New Port News, VA; 6grandchildren; and several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2016, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee.

Public visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee.
