Thomas Phillip Dushinske was born September 22, 1934, in Cherokee, IA, to William and Florence (Jenkins) Dushinske. Tom attended Immaculate Conception School until high school, graduating from Wilson High School in 1952.
On November 21, 1953, Tom married Audrey Howard and raised their family in Cherokee. He spent over 20 years as a purchasing agent and salesman for Lundell Manufacturing and then for Held Equipment Sales. He spent his final working years with Longview Fibre Paper & Packaging, Inc., where he was a top salesman, winning numerous awards. Tom was a golf enthusiast, whether he was playing the game or watching the pros on TV. He liked all sports—especially the Iowa State Cyclones. He was a dedicated and proud father of three Iowa State graduates, who each married Iowa State graduates. He liked keeping track of the weather, reading newspapers, dancing, and hunting with his sons.
On Thursday, January 18, 2018, Tom passed away at the Accura Healthcare Center in Cherokee. He was 83. Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters Mary Cosgrove, Dorothy Hyndman, and Janice Caldwell; a brother, Bill Dushinske, and brother-in-law, Malcom Hyndman.
Survivors include his wife Audrey; his children and their spouses: Michael and Kathleen (Sheehan) of Huffman, TX, John and Jill (Maffin) of Sandy, UT, and Julie and John McLaren of Cherokee; grandchildren: Adam (Kim) Dushinske, Sarah (Matt) Brown, Daniel (Molly) Dushinske, Paul (Emily) Dushinske, Julia Dushinske, Jack McLaren, and Elizabeth McLaren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Peter Cosgrove, Tom Caldwell, and Rodney Howard; sister-in-law, Joan Dushinske; and other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Accura Health and CRMC Hospice for their loving care.
SERVICES
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee.

VISITATION
Vistitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday with the family present during that time. There will be a 4:00 p.m. prayer service following the visitation at the funeral home.
