Terry Johnson passed away from an accidental fall at his home on August 9, 2021. Terry was born in Watertown, South Dakota on March 21, 1947, to Don and Mary Johnson. Raised in Watertown, South Dakota and Johnson City, Tennessee, Terry and his family almost always lived near water and they often took trips to camp, hunt and fish, instilling in him a love for recreation. Terry always maintained a special fondness for Okoboji, Iowa, having lived there for several years and went back often to enjoy time with friends and family.
The consummate entrepreneur, Terry moved his family to Storm Lake, Iowa in 1977 and started Radial Arm, Inc. He later worked for Cargill, living in Wayzata, Minnesota and finished up his career launching Primeline Marketing in Cherokee, Iowa and a retail shop named Okostogi in Okoboji, Iowa. He greatly enjoyed boating and his favorite days were those spent “on the deck or by the lake with friends and family”. He instilled love and respect for the outdoors in both his children and his grandchildren.
We will miss Terry’s wit, his laugh, his love for family, his friendship, and most of all, time spent in his presence. Please join our family to celebrate his life online at https://www.facebook.com/groups/terrydavidjohnson and also at a memorial service that will be announced in the very near future.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Donald F. Johnson, his mother Mary L. Johnson and his sister, Geralyn. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Mary Pat Norgaard (Casey) and Jodi Jones (Keith), his sons Andy Johnson and Ben Johnson (Lacey) and by his 10 grandchildren, Morgan, Lakyra, Austin, Mason, Elijah, Collin, Emmett, Emerson, Brielle, Ty and his 3 great grandchildren Avery, Kash and Sage. Terry will also be fondly remembered by his sisters and brothers, Debbie Borkhuis (Larry), Dawn Dosch (Joe), Greg Johnson (Jane), Rick Johnson (Joan), his nieces and nephews, extended family, colleagues, and dear friends.
