Tammy was born on August 24, 1962 in Lawrence, Kansas to John and Rose (Burkhart) Hercha. Her father was in the Navy so they moved around a lot, which was exciting and fun for her. She graduated from high school in Eudora, Kansas and from Patricia Stevens School of Fashion and Design in Omaha, Nebraska.
She married Michael Brown on March 4, 1984 in Cherokee, Iowa. They had one daughter, Katrina Marie Hercha-Brown. Katrina married a great son-in-law, Joshua Harman, and they had 3 children: Trey, Jordan, and Kianna.
Tammy worked in management for So-Fro Fabrics, Godfather's Pizza, the Ford Dealership, and La Grande Hacienda-Best Western, for Valley Glass, and other jobs.
She always enjoyed visiting with people, reading, amusement parks and rides, camping with family and friends, and loved her dogs.
Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Marie Hercha; her brother, William Rickabaugh; her grandfather, George E. Hercha; and her grandparents, Arlene and Dean Avery.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; her father, John Hercha and Deborah of Kansas; her daughter, Katrina Harman and her husband, Joshua Harman, and the grandchildren: Trey, Jordan, and Kianna of Cherokee; 3 sisters: Ginger Burke and Tom of Missouri; Jeaneen Holt and Charles, and children Isaac and Alexis of Kansas; and Janet McGinnis and Jacob of Colorado; one brother, Richard Hercha and Laura, and children Caroline, Jose, and Anna Gabriela of Colorado; and many family members and friends from '33 years in the same State, minus exploring with my gypsy blood, just like Mama.'
In lieu of flowers, Tammy's wishes and those of her family are to have donations made to the Cherokee School System because that is where her grandchildren attend. Please make checks payable to: Cherokee Education Foundation and in the memo area write 'In Memory of Tammy L. Hercha-Brown.'
