Susan J. Wede

Susan Joyce Wede, the daughter of Everett and Marga (Rahubsch) Wede, was born on July 1, 1954, in Cherokee, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Cherokee, where she attended school and graduated from Washington High School. Following high school, she attended nursing school.

Susan was a cardiac nurse at Sioux Valley Hospital. She was very dedicated to her job and would take extra shifts and on holidays to allow others to be with their families. She later worked at all three nursing homes in Cherokee, and eventually worked as a traveling nurse.

Susan enjoyed watching television and reading her nursing books. She also enjoyed family holidays, and loved all animals, especially cats and would always care for them anyway she could.

On April 15, 2023, Susan passed away at her home in Cherokee at the age of 68. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Marga Wede.

She is survived by her brother, Ken (Chris) Wede of Wentworth, SD; sister, Nancy Wede of Cherokee, IA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
