Steve Russell Johnson

Steve R. Johnson, the son of Russell Dean and Joan (Grauer) Johnson was born September 30, 1954, in Sioux City, IA. His childhood years were spent in Buena Park, CA where he attended grade school. He graduated from Savannah High School in Anaheim, CA. Following graduation, Steve enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served three years prior to his honorable discharge. Steve went on to work as a truck driver for many years hauling construction equipment before being disabled on the job. In 2003, Steve moved to Aurelia, IA. He enjoyed playing guitar, writing music, riding his Harley, and hunting. Most of all, Steve enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. On June 10, 2013, Steve passed away unexpectedly due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Richfield, Utah. He was 58. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Dean Johnson. He will lovingly be remembered by his mother, Joan Johnson of Cherokee, IA; two sisters: Julie Johnson of Cherokee, IA and Sherry McNabb of Cherokee, IA; 3 nieces: April Johnson of Cherokee, IA, Crystal Kerns of Quimby, IA, and Staci McNabb of Sioux City, IA; one nephew, CJ McNabb of Cherokee, IA; two great-nieces: Madison and Alexis of Quimby, IA; one great-nephew, Skyler of Quimby, IA; and many numerous extended family.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, June 18, 2013, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee.

VISITATION
