Stevan Douglas Volkert

Stevan Douglas Volkert, the son of Wesley and Dorothy (Rohlk) Volkert was born June 6, 1953, in Storm Lake, Iowa. His childhood years were spent near Aurelia, IA, where he attended school and graduated from Aurelia High School in 1971.

On November 15, 1975, Stevan was united in marriage to Mary Haselhoff. They resided south of Aurelia, where he farmed for many years. He also worked as a mechanic for Vollmar Motors in Holstein.

Steven enjoyed golfing, bowling, making yard art with Mary, and meeting new friends on Twitter. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and was active in the Knight of Columbus as a 4th degree knight. Most of all Stevan loved spending time with his grandchildren.

On August 26, 2021, Stevan passed away at Holstein Senior Living in Holstein, IA, at the age of 68. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Dorothy Volkert; and one infant sister, Barbara.

He will lovingly be remembered by his wife, Mary Volkert; children, Chad (Wendy) Volkert and their son, Dominic, Jeff (Christina) Volkert and their daughters, Rayann and Kierstin, Stacy Volkert; sister, Denise (Randy) Nicodemus; and other relatives and friends.

SERVICES
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee, Iowa.
OFFICIATING

VISITATION
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, with family present during that time at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee. There will be a 7:00 p.m. prayer service following the visitation at the funeral home.

Holstein Cemetery
