Sandra Elizabeth Casaday, the daughter of Laurel and Roberta (McDonald) Mitchell was born May 27, 1964, in Sioux City, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Sioux City, where she attended school. After school, she worked at Goodwill and various other jobs in the area.
On July 4, 1992, Sandra was united in marriage to Donald Casaday at Stone Park in Sioux City. Following their marriage, they lived in Sioux City, IA for a short while before moving to Primghar. They then moved to Meriden where they resided for 27 years. In 2019, they moved to Cleghorn.
Sandra had several hobbies, but her true passion was fishing. She liked to crochet, work in the garden, and bake birthday cakes. She had a love for making friends with all the stray animals in the neighborhood. Sandra also enjoyed sitting and visiting around a bonfire and caring for her favorite dog, Trixie. Most of all she enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.
On Monday, July 19, 2021, Sandra passed away at Unity Point Hospital in Sioux City at the age of 57. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She will lovingly be remembered by her husband Don Casaday of Cleghorn, IA; children, Krystel Lake of Sioux City, IA, Marlo Casaday of Plattsmouth, NE, Dominic Delgado of Estherville, IA, Joseph Owen of Arizona, and Ronald Lake of Washington State; siblings, Donald Mitchell, Monte Mitchell, Laurie Fox, Rosemary Duxbury, and Sharla Jenson; she is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
