Ronald DuWayne King, the son of William and Lucille (Rasmussen) King was born February 4, 1945, in Sioux City, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Quimby where he attended school and graduated from Quimby High School in 1963.
Following his schooling, Ron worked for his father where he learned the electrician and plumbing trade. On September 5, 1964, he was united in marriage to Doris Regennitter. They moved to Rochester, MN where they started their family and he worked as a roofer.
After a couple years, they moved back to Quimby where he worked as an electrician and plumber for many years. He also volunteered with the Quimby Fire Department for many years.
He moved to Colorado for 22 years where he worked in maintenance for Ora Wheat Bakery. On July 17, 1999, Ron married Marylou Sindt in Quimby. Following their marriage, they resided in Colorado until his retirement in 2007, when they moved back to Washta to be closer to family.
Ron enjoyed traveling to Colorado on hunting trips, playing pool and golf. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Ron was a caring and loving individual which was evident with his organ and skin donation which will benefit people he didn't even know live a better life through his generosity.
On March 27, 2011, Ron passed away unexpectedly at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center at the age of 66. He was preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" King; one son, Wade Allen King; and special friend, Don Kischer.
He is survived by his wife, Marylou King of Washta, IA; mother, Lucille King of Quimby, IA; his children: Michelle (Robert) McCampbell of Washta, IA, Sherri (Kirk) Ray of Washta, IA, Paul King of Washta, IA, Aaron (Wendy) King of Quimby, IA, Shawn King of Washta, IA, Damon (Jessica) Bolles of Wayne, NE, and Cris (Megan) Bolles of Correctionville, IA; grandchildren: Cody (Rhiannon) Ray,Dillon, Nathan, Garret, and Emily Ray, Devon, MacKenzie, JaKob, Hunter, and Noah King, Taylor and Trevor King, Nyla and Zoe Bolles, and Gage and Danica Bolles; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Thomas Ray; siblings: William (Sandy) King of Vergas, MN, Joan Nelson of Branson, MO, Jan (Al) Wagner of Park Rapids, MN, Roy (Mary) King of Centennial, CO, and Julie (Chuck) Woolley of Cherokee, IA; as well as several nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at Noon on Friday with the family present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Friday night at Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home
