Ronald E. Morgan, 54, of Cherokee, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital from complications with Covid-19.
Ron was born on February 4, 1967 in Sioux City, IA to Robert (Lyle) and Marian (Gralapp) Morgan. He graduated from Eastwood High School in 1985. Ron married Danette Johnson on May 11, 1991 in Cushing. They enjoyed 30 years of marriage.
Ron went through the electrical apprenticeship and worked as a journeyman through the IBEW Local 231 Union in Sioux City. He then started his own company, Morgan Electric, Inc. He also worked at Dupont Pioneer. Most recently he was a feedlot manager for Spring Valley Ranch. Ron, Danette, and their son Nathaniel partnered together to form Morgan Cattle Company, LLC and Pa & Son Trucking, LLC in the last five years.
Ron enjoyed going on mission trips especially the two trips to Swaziland, Africa. Ron participated in a Tuesday Morning Bible and Current Events Group. He had a love for both topics, and would talk to anyone about Jesus and politics. Ron loved to uplift and pray with people including his pastors. His favorite question to ask people was, “What has God been teaching you recently?” He believed in living his life in faith, not fear. He appreciated the freedom in making choices based on his beliefs.
Throughout the years Ron and Danette were foster parents to fourteen children. Ron always treated them as his own kids and helped them as much as they would allow. Ron was a huge supporter of Danette with the Supply Closet which serves families in need of assistance and foster and adoptive parents.
Ron loved all of his children and was happy to spend time with them any time he could. He was always there to help when there was a project that needed done, if it involved working with his hands, he enjoyed passing on his wealth of knowledge. He was known as Pa by his grandchildren whom he adored and took every opportunity possible to spend time with them. He was always happy to get as many hugs and kisses as possible.
Ron firmly believed that God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good. Ron would want everyone to know he received his healing and is with Jesus.
Ron is survived by his wife, Danette, children Aaron (Dana Nelson), Nicole (Josh) Perlinger, Nathaniel and Kyle. Grandsons Jace, Tate, and Baby Perlinger (Due March 2022). His mother Marian; brothers Jim (Nan), Tom (Lynn), Bob (Alexandria McKenzie) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ron is preceded in death by his Father, Lyle and sister Anna Marie.
