Roger Henry Cook, 82, of Pierson, Iowa, died Tuesday evening, August 3, 2010 at the Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, Iowa.
Mr. Cook was born April 11, 1928 in Oyens, the son of Henry and Agnes (Niehus) Cook. He graduated from Marcus High School. Roger married Lona Maye Herbold on June 23, 1951.
Roger served in the Navy, and spent most of his life in the Pierson area. He enjoyed cooking, arranging family gatherings, fishing, playing cards, and visiting his children and grandchildren.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Monte Cook, of Colorado, Dawn Cook of Oklahoma, Cindy Rath and her husband Kelly, of Pierson, Amelia Keeth and her husband Mark, of Colorado; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a sister Nancy Pick and her husband Cliff, of Le Mars, a sister-in-law Rita Cook, of Remsen; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lona, brothers Clark and Henry Jr., sisters Arvey, Velma, and Mary, and a grandchild, Jacob.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 6, 2010, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville, IA.

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville, IA. Rev. Mark Stoll will officiate. Visitation will begin at 4:00 P.M. Thursday afternoon with the family present from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday night at Immaculate Conception Church in Moville. A wake service will be held at 7:00 P.M. at the church.
