Pearl P. Jenness, the daughter of Francis and Mary (Konz) Mousel, was born April 4, 1929, in Alton, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Alton where she received her education. She graduated from St. Mary's High School. She later attended Briar Cliff College where she received her teaching certificate.
After graduation, Pearl taught school in Aurelia, IA, the Cherokee School District, and the Immaculate Conception School. On February 14, 1953, Pearl was united in marriage to LeRoy Jenness in Alton. They resided in Cherokee where she continued working for the Cherokee School District in many different capacities.
Through the years, Pearl donated her time and was active in many organizations. She was a proud lifetime member of the V.F.W Women's Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Catholic Daughter's of America. She was the 2009 recipient of the Cherokee Citizen Recognition Award. Pearl thoroughly enjoyed cooking, baking, assisting others, traveling with LeRoy, and living life to its fullest. Her family was her life. She cherished being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
On May 19, 2012, Pearl passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Mary Mousel; four brothers; four sisters; and many in-laws.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, LeRoy Jenness of Cherokee, IA, children: Jason Jenness of Sioux City, IA, Jisele (Chris) Jorgenson of Sioux City, IA, and Jennifer (Tim) Lockwood of Cherokee, IA; grandchildren: Lt. Col. Jeremy Jenness, Michelle Beavers, Patty Pope, David Benedix, Audrey Benedix, Donny Short, Dylan Short, and Mallory Short; great-grandchildren: Jacob, Blake, Alexandria, Ean, Nicholas, Seth, Destiny, Shyan, Gabe, Alex, Chloe, Riley, Pearl, and Brooklynn; one sister, Francie Mae (Bibs) Homan; and many other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at noonn on Tuesday, with the family present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Tuesday night at Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee. There will be a 3:00 P.M. rosary Tuesday conducted by the Catholic Daughters of America and a 7:00 P.M. prayer service Tuesday night at the funeral home.
