Paulette Kay Herrmann

Paulette Kay Herrmann, the daughter of Lorraine (Harty) and Paul Herrmann, was born March 23, 1947, in Sioux Falls, SD. She moved to Cherokee with her family in the early 1950’s. She attended Immaculate Conception Schools in Cherokee, and graduated in 1965. She worked at Sioux Valley Hospital for a few years. She then spent the next 45 years working at Cherokee Mental Health Institute, first as a ward worker and later an accounting clerk. She retired in June of 2016.

Paulette enjoyed time with friends and family, reading, and doing puzzles. She liked being an aunt, talking often with her niece, Nikki. She took seriously (Ha!) the role of keeping her two brothers in line. She loved all animals, and was especially fond of dogs.

Paulette passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. She was 70 years young. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Paulette was loved and will be missed by her brothers: Mike Herrmann, his wife, Patty and daughter, Nikki, all of Norwalk, IA, and Kevin Herrmann of Cherokee; her Bassett Hounds, Gidget and Lucy; other relatives and many friends.
