Patty A. Knudsen

Patty Ann Knudsen “Stormy” Nelson, was born on June 21, 1949 to Arthur Nelson and Ruby Pearl Nelson (Synder) in Sioux City, Iowa. Patty was a twin to Peggy Prodehl. Patty had three brothers, John Nelson, James Nelson, and Alva Nelson. Patty attended high school at Central in Sioux City, IA, and graduated in 1967. She attended the Lackland Air Force Basic Training in 1975 and served in the 185^th Air Guard in Sioux City as Admin Specialist where she reached rank as a Sargent. Patty had worked in several jobs, nursing homes, Gomaco in Ida Grove, and Opportunities Unlimited which was her favorite as she was very kind and caring.

 Patty resided in Sioux City, Ute, Perry, and Marcus, Iowa. She was a member of Tremble Methodist Church in Sioux City and a member of the American Legion. She enjoyed bragging about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, spending time with family at Okoboji, scrap booking, playing Monopoly, and playing the casino. Patty loved cooking and hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas, which was her favorite. Patty was married to Parker Knudsen on May 9, 1998 in Sioux City until his passing on September 29, 2014. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with the grandchildren over the years.

 She is survived by her son, Carl (Jenna) Nelson of Marcus, IA; daughter, Stacie Hite (Stromquist) and husband Curtis of Perry, IA; son, Matthew Stromquist of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Lukas (Brittany) Nelson of Dunkerton, IA, Bailee (Tyler) Prunty of Marcus, IA; Erik Nelson and fiancé Emily Yockey of Marcus, IA, Maddie Heath and Nathan of Perry, IA, Brady Iben of Perry, IA, Carter Iben, of Perry, IA, Mason Stromquist, Madelyn Stromquist, Melody Stromquist, and Maddux Stromquist, all of Savannah, GA; great-grandchildren, Sophia Nelson and Hadlee Prunty; many nieces and nephews; and brother Alva (Joan) Nelson of Urbandale, IA.

 Preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John Nelson and James Nelson; twin sister, Peggy Prodehl; and husband, Parker Knudsen.
