Patrick William Cronin, the son of Joseph and Marie (George) Cronin was born August 2, 1953, in Le Mars, IA. His childhood years were spent on the family farm near Marcus. He attended Maryhill School and graduated in 1971 from Meriden-Cleghorn High School. In 1973, he earned his mechanics degree from Iowa Lakes Community College.
Following school, Pat went to work for Poca-Vista Implement on April 1, 1973. In October 2003, following the closing of Poca-Vista, Pat, along with Steve Schuknecht, purchased the building and formed the partnership C&S Repair. He worked there until his passing. Pat was a member of the Albert City Fire Department from August 1989 to the present, becoming Fire Chief in January of 2000.
Besides work, Pat had several hobbies which included fishing, hunting, NASCAR, mushroom hunting, gardening, and baking. He will be lovingly remembered for his pies and canned sauerkraut. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and teasing his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marie (George) Cronin; one nephew, Benjamin Muller; and one step-brother, Randy Theisen.
Pat is survived by three brothers, Mike (Pam) Cronin of Cleghorn, IA, Tim (Angela) Cronin of Meriden, IA, and Mark (Kim) Cronin of Marcus, IA; eight sisters, Diane (Tom) Herrmann of Cologne, MN, Jane (Michael) Blee of St. Cloud, MN, Kathy (Ray) Essick of Spencer, IA, Nancy (Dean) Gavin of Carver, MN, Barb (Shawn) Brady of Marcus, IA, Carla (David) Muller of Sergeant Bluff, IA, Beth (Paul) Ireland of Big Lake, MN, and Amy (Chris) Doud of Urbandale, IA; step-mother, Joan (Theisen) Cronin of Marcus; three step-brothers; seven step-sisters; 34 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at 4:00 Thursday, with the family present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH in Cherokee. There will be a 7:00 p.m. prayer service to follow at the church.
