Patricia "Patty" Ann Patrick, the daughter of Nels and Margaret (Noethe) Kastengren, was born October 11, 1941, in Primghar, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Sutherland where she attended school.
Patty was united in marriage to Larry Patrick on June 13, 1958, in Jackson, Minnesota. Following their marriage they lived in Sutherland, California, South Dakota, and Minnesota before moving to Cleghorn in 1973. Patty worked as a registered dietician for the Mental Health Institute in Cherokee and also for the Cleghorn schools. She also worked as a seamstress, cook, and caretaker for the elderly.
Patty was a member of the Meriden Evangelical Free Church in Meriden. She enjoyed flower arranging, sewing, cooking, baking, and was an avid gardener. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Patty passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center at the age of 74. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Patrick in 2006; parents, Nels and Margaret Kastengren; one son, David L. Patrick Jr.; and one sister and brother.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses: Rebecca (Jon) Pigott of Correctionville, IA, Deborah (Lyle) Rupp of Yutan, NE, and Tim (DaNita) Patrick of Paullina, IA; one sister, Mickey (Doug) Boetel of Springdale, AR; one brother-in-law, Robert Dean (Mary Sue) Patrick of McCall, ID; one sister-in-law, Linda (Garrie) Rusk of Sioux City, IA; Carolyn Patrick of Emmett, ID; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
SERVICES
A Celebration Of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Meriden Evangelical Free Church in Meriden.
