Michael Richard Kruger, son of Eugene and Ida Mae (Bechler) Kruger, was born August 11, 1973 in Rock Rapids, IA. His childhood years were spent in the George, IA area where he graduated from George Little Rock High School. He attended Iowa State University and graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1996.
Mike was united in marriage to Angela (Angie) Trei on June 1, 1996 in Little Rock, IA. To this union three children were born, Carson, Chloe and Caela.
Mike worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation in Mt. Pleasant, IA from January 1997 to June 2003. Mike and his family then relocated to Aurelia, IA where he continued his employment with the IDOT.
Mike was an Aurelia School Board Member, an Alta Aurelia Cydog football coach, and an assistant 5th grade boys Alta Aurelia Warrior basketball coach. Mike was also actively involved with the Aurelia Youth League, enjoyed hunting, and a huge Minnesota Vikings and ISU fan. He had the love of sports and any activity that involved his children. He leaves behind his hunting sidekick Dakota, dog Dudley and cats Bubba and Bella. He was a devoted husband and dad who will forever be remembered and loved.
On April 14, 2011, Mike passed away unexpectedly at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center at the age of 37. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Irvin and Helen Kruger and John and Ida Bechler.
He is survived by his wife, Angie Kruger of Aurelia, IA; three children, Carson, Chloe and Caela Kruger of Aurelia; parents Eugene and Ida Mae Kruger of George, IA; sister Stacey (Michael) Krull of Denver, CO; in-laws Alan J. and Cora Trei of Little Rock, IA; sister-in-law Georjette (Joel) Korthals of Sibley, IA; brother-in-law Alan D. Trei of Little Rock, IA; nieces and nephews Paige Krull of Denver, CO; Brooke, Bret, Brentt and Brecklynn Korthals of Sibley, IA; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, April 18, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, IA.
