Michael Robert Snyder, the son of Robert 'Bud' and Mary Jane (Bird) Snyder, was born in LeMars, IA on September 11, 1954. He grew up in Marcus, IA, and graduated from Marcus High School in 1973. He later received an Associate's Degree in Accounting from Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, IA.
On June 26, 1976, Mike was united in marriage to Rhonda Hanson at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus. They lived in Marcus and Remsen before settling in Cherokee in 1979. They were blessed with two daughters, Amanda and Alissa. Mike's most recent employment was with Rehab Systems of Lundell Construction in Cherokee.
Mike loved watching movies, cooking (especially fried chicken!), singing, and doing yard work. He was an avid Iowa State fan and a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He thoroughly enjoyed entertaining his granddaughters. He passed away unexpectedly at his home in Cherokee on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at age 58. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Don Hanson, step-father-in-law, Don Specht; brother-in-law, Richard Stoos; and nephew, Ernie Wurth.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Rhonda, of Cherokee; two daughters and their families: Amanda Davis and her husband Dennis and daughter Mirabel of San Antonio, TX, and Alissa Mangan and her husband Tom and daughter Colbie Jane of Ames, IA; his siblings: Susie Stoos, of Remsen, Donna (Jerry) Wurth, of Colorado Springs, CO, Mary (Chet) Wurth, of Remsen, Barb (Pat) Gossen, of Louisville, KY, Patty (John) Sand of Marcus, and Steve (Debbie) Snyder of Naperville, IL; his mother-in-law, Faith Specht of Marcus;nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 14th at Holy Name Catholic Church in MARCUS.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 13th, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in MARCUS. There will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary at the Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m., and a prayer service will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m.
