Mercedee Sapp, the daughter of Juan and Feliza (Sapin) Baliola was born January 8, 1935, in Gerona, Tarlac. Following her education, she moved to Hong Kong where she was a housekeeper for an Ambassador. While in Hong Kong, Mercedee was as active member of her church where she sang in the choir.
Mercedee moved to the United States with her church sponsoring her. She lived in New York City where she attended culinary school. She worked as a nanny for many years and was known as a very good cook.
Mercedee moved to Cherokee, IA in 1996. She enjoyed cooking and working. Most of all she loved being around her family and friends especially her nieces and nephews.
On November 23, 2011, Mercedee passed away at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center at the age of 76. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Feliza Baliola.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters: Eufuoline Millado, Redencion Galo, Rodrigo Baliola, Vicforia Sapin, Vergelio Baliola, and Carmelita Wackins; many nieces and nephews; grandchildren; and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Cherokee.
