Mary Patricia (Ryan) Peters

November 15, 1948 — May 17, 2020

Mary Patricia Peters was born on November 15^th 1948 in Storm Lake Iowa. When she was a small child, her parents, Joseph Romain and Joanne, moved the family to Cherokee where Mary attended Immaculate Conception Parochial School, graduating in 1967.

After high school, Mary continued her studies at NTB Business School in Sioux City. Later she took a job at Cherokee’s KCHE local radio station.

Soon after, she married Larry Peters in November of 1969 and moved to Fort Hood Texas. After a short year and a half, life took them to Plano Texas. This was where she spent the remainder of her years—working in management at Tom Thumb and doing her favorite thing, raising her family and being a mom.

She is survived by her husband Larry Peters of Plano, TX; her son Ryan Peters and his wife Suzanne of Norman, OK and their daughter Kate; her son John Peters and his wife Katie of Ladera Ranch, CA; brother Tim Ryan of Plano, TX and brother Bill Ryan of Plano, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Romaine and Joanne (Wright) Ryan.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee. The funeral is open to the public with social distancing being practiced

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home
