The couple farmed in the Maryhill area west of Cherokee where they worked hard and provided an idyllic environment for their children to grow up. In 1990 they retired and moved to Cherokee. Mary was an organist at the Visitation Parish for many years and had been an active member of the parish church guild. She was also an organist at Immaculate Conception Church. Mary was active in 4-H programs for many years and was a hospice volunteer. She enjoyed writing, playing the piano and organ, crafts, knitting and gardening.
