Mary Lou was born on February 27, 1930, to Maydar and Anna (Henke) Lux, the third of six children. She was baptized, confirmed, and educated at Maryhill Visitation Church, rural Cherokee, Iowa. On September 20, 1949, Mary was united in marriage to Joseph Wiemold at Maryhill.
Mary Lou was a homemaker and a mother to three children: Carolyn, John, and Charles. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, baking, traveling, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends. After retirement, Mary Lou left the farm and moved to Cherokee.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn (Ron) Pudenz of Pocahontas; son John (Connie) Wiemold of Cherokee, and son Charles (Ronda) Wiemold of Cherokee; grandchildren Adam Wiemold of Ft. Collins, CO, Megan Pigott (Jason) of Cherokee, Gregory Pudenz of Dallas, TX, Joseph (Cassandra) Pudenz of Waukee, Anne Pudenz of Coon Rapids; Jeffrey Wiemold of Ames, Whitney Wiemold of Cherokee; great grandchildren, Will and Clara Pigott of Cherokee; Abraham Pudenz; sister, Frances Rupp; brothers, Paul and Joseph.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; parents, Anna and Maydar; brothers, Orman Lux and Floyd Lux.
