Marvin Wayne Wampler, the son of Howard and Maude (Stuart) Wampler was born June 7, 1927 in Savannah, MO. His childhood years were spent in Floyd County where he attended school. He graduated from Stanberry High School in 1946. After school, Marvin served with the military for two years. He then attended Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, MO where he earned a teaching degree.
On October 10, 1954, Marvin was united in marriage to Norma Woods in Stanberry, MO. In 1960 they moved to Cherokee, IA where he worked Iowa Breeders company where he bred cattle. He also worked at Lundell Manufacturing, Walnut Grove, and most recently the MHI for over 30 years.
Marvin enjoyed music; talking and having coffee with his friends, religion and politics. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
On August 11, 2015, Marvin passed away at a Sioux City Hospital at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma Wampler; his two sons, Vaughn and Laverne Wampler; one daughter, Maryann Wampler; his parents, Howard and Maude Wampler, two sisters, Nadine Killam and Norma Lee Wampler
He will lovingly be remembered by his daughters, Mona (Bob) Wilson of Jewell, IA, and Lavetta Wampler of Dysart, IA; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Wampler of Rochester, MN; as well as several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
