Marlene Jenness

Marlene Elaine Jenness, the daughter of Willard H. and Erma Matilda Laura (Westphal) Stief was born on September 25, 1949 in Alta, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Aurelia where she attended school and graduated from Aurelia High School in 1967. Following high school Marlene attended the University of Northern Iowa. Marlene resided in Cherokee, IA and worked for Miller Mac Insurance and Real Estate and Farm Bureau. For the past 37 years, she had worked for the U.S. Postal Service, most recently worked as Post Master in Aurelia, IA. She was involved with the TTT, Cherokee Booster Club, and Postal Unions. She enjoyed shopping and attending her grandchildren's events. On May 22, 2011, Marlene passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center at the age of 61. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Erma Stief; one brother, Dean Stief; maternal grandparents, Henry and Clara Westphal; paternal grandparents, Alfred and Minnie Stief; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by three sons: Chad (Kristen) Jenness of Andover, MN, Cory (Laurie) Jenness of Sibley, IA, and Chris (Missy) Jenness of Cherokee, IA; seven grandchildren, Colvin, Beau, and Tyce Jenness of Sibley, IA, Carson and Adyson Jenness of Cherokee, IA, and Isabel and Bailey Jenness of Andover, MN; two sisters, Sharon Stief of Alta, IA, Nancy (Jack) Galvin of Aurelia, IA; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia, Iowa.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday, with the family present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Tuesday night at Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee.
