Marcella E. Glover

Marcella E. Glover, the daughter of John and Anna (Kohn) Rupp, was born February 14, 1915, on the farm near Maryhill. Her childhood years were spent near Cherokee where she attended country school. She graduated from Wilson High School in Cherokee. She then attended a teacher's academy where she received a license to teach. On February 10, 1941, she was united in marriage to Ralph Glover at Maryhill. They resided in Larrabee for five years before moving near Quimby, where they farmed. They move to Cherokee in 1979, following their retirement. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church of Cherokee, IA. Marcella enjoyed sewing, gardening, flowers and spending time with her family and friends. On July 17, 2013, Marcella passed away at Careage Hills Nursing Home in Cherokee, IA at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph in July 1981; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Glover; sister, Mildred Rupp; brothers, Wilmer and Louis Rupp; and parents, John and Anna Rupp. Marcella is survived by her children: Maryann (Richard) Gagnon of Fall River, Mass.; Jean (Ed) Heinen of Cherokee, IA; Harold Glover Sr. of Cherokee, IA; Charles (Ingrid) Glover of Germany; and Raymond Glover of Cherokee, IA; grandchildren: Harold Glover Jr. and special friend, Tammy Booher of Cherokee, IA; Jason Gagnon of Fall River, Mass.; Dana Glover of Cherokee, IA; Kelly Heinen and special friend, Scott Sargent of Ft. Dodge; Stacie (Dan) Thomsen of Vinton, IA; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie of Vinton, IA; sister-in-law, Celesta Rupp; nieces; Marilyn Rupp of Cherokee, IA, Cathy Rupp of Remsen, IA; Donna (Larry) Miller of Remsen, IA and nephew, Alan (Jean) Rupp of Cherokee, IA.
