Lucille L. Borrink

December 23, 1920 — January 28, 2011

Lucille was born December 23, 1920, to Mr. and Mrs. William Hantsbarger in Cherokee, IA. She graduated from Cherokee High School in 1939 and also graduated from Samuelson Beauty School. She worked many years as a beautician and always cared how her hair looked even when she was in the nursing home. Lucille married Ray Borrink on February 28, 1942. They were married 60 years before Ray went to Heaven. Lucille was a longtime member of St. Paul's Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing golf and belonged to bridge club and a women's circle at church. She is survived by her daughter, Barb Cunningham and her husband, Doug of Urbandale, IA. She had 5 grandchildren: Lisa Bergman and husband Dan from Gainesville, FL; Chad Cunningham and wife Kim from Woodstock, GA; Lance Borrink and wife Michelle of Sun City West, AZ; Rosemary Prin and husband Andrew of Champlin, MN; and Alissa Borrink of Minneapolis, MN. She had 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray (June 15, 2002) and her son Dennis (April 20, 1985). Memorial contributions may be made to Careage Hills Nursing Home where she lived her last year and experienced exceptional love and care.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, February 4, 2011 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee.

A public gathering will be held on Thursday from 5:00-7:00 P.M. with the family present during that time.
