Lonnie Gail Boardman, the son of Gail and Lorraine (Steuck) Boardman was born May 10, 1955, in Cherokee, IA. His childhood years were spent in O'Brien County where he attended school in Primghar and Sutherland where he graduated in 1973. Following graduation, Lonny attended Upper Iowa University where he received a B.A. degree. He also attended Creighton University School of Law.
Lonny served with the U.S. Air Force from 1973-1982 where he was a SSGT. Lonny worked for Style Craft in Milford, IA, and most recently Wells Blue Bunny in Le Mars, IA.
On May 27, 2010, Lonny was united in marriage to Priscilla Shea in Las Vegas, NV. Lonny was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland, the American Legion Post #152 in Sutherland, the Harley Owners Group, the ABATE of Iowa, and the Vietnam Security Police Association. In his free time, Lonny enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing his guitar, sketching, and sitting around a campfire with family and friends in his back yard.
On December 7, 2010, Lonnie passed away at his home in Cherokee surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred and Louise Steuck; and his father, Gail Boardman.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Boardman of Cherokee, IA; mother, Lorraine Boardman of Cherokee; four children: Richard Boardman of Hartley, IA, Stefanie Emory and her husband Jake of California City, CA, Eric Boardman and his wife Rachael of Ankeny, IA, and Jared Nissen of Ruthven, IA; three step-sons: Mike Shea of Sioux Falls, SD, Al Shea of Lake Andes, SD, and Steve Shea of Sac City, IA; one sister, Marla Aldag and her husband Ted of Kiron, IA; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Due to the weather, funeral services are now scheduled for 1:30 P.M. Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland.
Military services will be conducted by the Sutherland American Legion Post #152.
