Lola Kay Paeper, the daughter of Gale and Helen (Wright) Henson was born September 1, 1951, in Sac City, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Sac City where she attended school and graduated from Sac Community High School.
On September 14, 1968, Lola was united in marriage to Russell Paeper in Nemaha, IA. They lived in Storm Lake for two years before moving to Cherokee. She worked for Casey’s for 15 years, managed Subway for five years, Wiese Oil for 10 years, and then she worked as a bookkeeper for Culligan for 10 years until her retirement in 2015.
Lola enjoyed the outdoors. From tending to her beautiful flowers, to watching the birds gather at the feeders, to sitting on lawn chairs with Russell at Mill Creek watching the water and nature pass by. She also loved to travel. The highlight was the trip that they took to Hawaii six years ago. More than anything, Lola enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
