Kevin Wayne Woltman, the son of Frances 'Elaine' (Bowen) and Wayne Woltman, was born in Cherokee, Iowa on December 17, 1949. He received his early education at the Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Cherokee, graduating in 1968. Kevin was very proud of his Alma Mater. He excelled at both tennis and golf. He attended Iowa Lakes Community College for one year.
Kevin began working at the Wilson/Tyson meat packing plant in Cherokee, and his career continued there for the next 41 years. He made a number of great friends during his time at Tyson's, and kept in touch with many of them through Facebook following his retirement. He was an avid sports fan, and compiled countless records of sports trivia and statistics. Always with a Pepsi in his hand, Kevin enjoyed playing cards and watching his big screen TV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his step-mother, Eulalia (Miller) Woltman.
Survivors include two brothers, Kyle Woltman of Cherokee, and Kirk (Krista) Woltman of Marion, Iowa; his niece Sophia and nephews Mitchell, Miles and McIntire; aunts and uncles: Joyce (Phipps) and Virg Pyle of Cherokee, Gary Woltman of Okoboji, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2016, at Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee.
