Kerrie Lynn Morris

Kerrie Lynn Morris, the daughter of Jefferson McGrew II and Eileen (Unsworth) McGrew, was born June 13, 1958, in Morrow Bay, CA. Her childhood years were spent in Morrow Bay where she received her education. After school she worked at various jobs the next few years before moving to Hawaii. On May 1, 1976, she was united in marriage to Tony Morris at Kaneohe, Hawaii. Following their marriage they lived in California and various communities in Iowa before moving to Cherokee, IA in 1991. Kerrie was employed as an administrative assistant for the Cherokee County Work Services. She loved her job and enjoyed her friendship with clients and coworkers. Kerrie was an avid reader. She enjoyed spending time in her vegetable garden, camping, canoeing, and was an avid sports fan. Most of all she will be remembered for the love and compassion she had for everyone she met. On January 4, 2016, Kerrie passed away at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha at the age of 57. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eileen McGrew. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Tony Morris of Remsen, IA; one son, Sean Morris and his wife Lei Peng of China; her father, Jefferson McGrew II of Sebastopol, CA; two sisters, Kim McGrew of San Louis Obispo, CA, and Kathleen Kane of Pismo Beach, CA; She is also survived by other relatives and close friends. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Cherokee County Works Services in Cherokee.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus. In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Cherokee County Works Services.
