Kaye Lee Prokop was born on February 23, 1948 in Cherokee, IA to Cecil A. and Anna Louise (Klingborg) Prokop. When he was very young, his step-father George Voss entered his life and became Kaye's dad. Kaye grew up in Battle Creek and Quimby, IA. He graduated from Willow High School in 1966. He married Marilyn Kohn on September 16, 1967. Three children were born to this union. Kaye was later married to Michelle Hillman. His career included jobs in the electrical, auto and insurance fields. He had lived in Cookeville, TN the past eleven years and had just moved back to Iowa in July 2011.
Kaye proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was very proud to be a veteran and worked tirelessly to assist disabled Vietnam Veterans for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Prokop and Anna Louise Voss; his grandparents; his older brother, Ray and one son-in-law, Tom Anderson.
He is survived by his daughter, Melany Anderson and her fianc�e Bob Ernst and their children Kayla and Tyler Anderson of Adair, IA; his brother, Larry (Paula) Prokop of Garden City, KS; sisters, Eva (Bob) Griffin of Holstein, IA, Reta (Wayne) Todd of Holstein, IA, and brother, Gary Voss of Des Moines, IA; aunts and uncles, Keith and Norma Olhausen of Cherokee, IA, Jack and Roberta Klingborg of Cherokee, IA, Lyle and Betty Woltman of Quimby, IA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the Greenwood Funeral Home.
