Karen Jean Gravenish

Karen Jean Gravenish, passed away Thursday, July 27th, at her home in Rapid City, South Dakota. The daughter of Bernard Gravenish and Mary (Bork) Gravenish, she was born February 12, 1962 in Cherokee, Iowa.

She graduated from Meriden - Cleghorn in 1980. She continued her education at DMACC in Des Moines, Iowa, and graduated in 1981 with a degree in computer science.

Shortly after, she moved to California and started her career with Verizon, from 1981 through December 2022. She was married to Rich Andeway, making their home in California. In March of 2018 she moved to Rapid City, South Dakota, where she resided until her passing.

Karen was an avid Raiders and Dodgers fan and loved rodeos as well. She loved her nieces and nephews as her own.  She had a tremendous heart of gold to help those who were ill or challenged in some way.  Her smile was infectious, and she always had a laugh and conversation for all.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Mary Gravenish Blair of Meriden.  Her brothers:  David, Dennis, Duane, Dean, Matt, and Dale.  Sisters: Cynthia Scott (Windsor, CO), Marilyn Samsel, Janet Kraemer (Santa Anna, CA), and Diane Bunkers (Remsen).  Stepdaughter Vicki Andeway Glynn, and numerous nieces and nephews.
