On January 16, 1952, she was united in marriage to Bernard W. Colvin. They were a military family and moved several times during Bernard’s time in the service. After Vietnam, they moved to Ellsworth Air Force Base. On January 31, 1971.,while in Rapid City, Bernard became ill and passed away.
June and her family moved to Cherokee, IA to be closer to family. She worked for Washington High School serving as secretary from 1974-1992. On April 3, 1976, she was united in marriage to Leo Jordahl.
June enjoyed bowling, fishing, and spending the long cold winters in Mesa, AZ. She also enjoyed traveling in their motor home with Leo. Most of all, she enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.
On Monday, February 26, 2018, June passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her husband, SMSGT Bernard W. Colvin, USAF; her parents, Bernard S. and Clara June Holway; one sister, Pamela Holcomb; one brother, Bernard “Bub” Holway; brother- in- laws, sister-in-laws; nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered by her husband, Leo Jordahl of Cherokee, IA; her children; Mark (Kim) Colvin of West Branch, IA, Gary (Ann) Colvin of Sac City, IA, Jason (Jannette) Colvin of O’Fallon, MO, and Allan Jordahl of Larrabee, IA; grandchildren, Jacob (Lacey) Colvin, Laura (Rob) Alderson, Rachael Colvin, Kyle Colvin, Cassie Colvin, Amanda (Brian) Colvin Dunn, Justin Colvin, Nate Colvin, Jason (Amy) Jordahl, Jennie (Jeff) Noble; great-grandchildren, Ava Alderson, Josie Alderson, Gabrielle Jordahl, Garrett Jordahl, McKenna Jordahl, Mason Jordahl, and Julia Noble. She is also survived by brothers and sisters Maryanne Theede Munson, Frank (Sharon) Holway, Judy (Mike) O’Neal, Mike (Sue) Holwald, several nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee.
