Judy (Weins) Wagner, daughter of Nick and Lillian Weins was born July 17th, 1944 in the family home in Calumet, Iowa. Judy was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical and Reformed Church in Calumet. Judy attended her first nine years of school in Calumet and her last three years in Sutherland.
After graduation, Judy worked various places in Cherokee and met her future husband, Augie. Augie and Judy moved to Minneapolis, MN where she worked in the K-Mart deli area. The couple then moved back to Larrabee, IA where Judy owned and operated A & J’s café. Judy met amazing friends over the years and served many meals.
Judy retired after 25 years and moved to an apartment in Cherokee where she resided for many years. She then entered the Cherokee Villa Nursing Home with declining health issues. Judy was in the nursing home for 2 ½ years, contacted COVID-19 and passed away November 21, 2020.
Preceding Judy in death were her parents, a brother, Jim, brother-in-laws, Palmer Hanson, Charles Westphal, Roger Miskee, Sister-in-law, Romona and a nephew.
Left to cherish Judy’s memory are her sisters, Ruth Hanson, Dorothy Westphal, Joan Anderson and husband Kenneth, Alice Daniels, Patty Anderson and husband, Dennis, Rosemary Osterquist and husband Jim, and brother, Robert Weins and Tess, many nieces, nephews and friends.
