Judith Lee Ferrin, the daughter of Lewis (Peck) Lawrence and Lovedy Conklin was born on July 14, 1935, in Cherokee, IA and graduated from Wilson High School in 1953. Following graduation, she worked secretarial jobs and met the love of her life, Harold Ferrin, when he helped her up after she had fallen down at the local skating rink.
Harold and Judy became engaged on February 14, 1956 and were married at First Church of Christ in Cherokee on September 16, 1956. Shortly after their wedding, Harold was drafted into the Army and stationed in Tacoma, Washington. Their first child, Lynette Lee, was born while they were in Tacoma on June 3, 1959. Shortly after Lynette’s birth, Judy and Harold returned to Cherokee. Two more children were added to their family. Debra Joy was born on January 26, 1962 and Neal Harold was born May 21, 1965. After they retired, Harold and Judy purchased a camper and traveled many winters to Florida, Texas, and Arizona. They made countless friends while along their journeys. Judy has stated that her proudest accomplishment in life is the family that she and Harold created together. This family consists of three children, nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

A testament to Judy’s great faith and love for her Lord in best stated in II Corinthians 4: 16-18
“That is why we never give up. Though are bodies are dying, our inner strength in the Lord is growing every day. These troubles and sufferings of ours are, after all, quite small and won’t last very long. Let this short time of distress will result in God’s richest blessings upon us forever and ever. So we do not look at what we can see right now, the troubles all around us, but we look forward to the joys in heaven which we have not yet seen. The troubles will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever.
