Joy Lynn Larson

Joy Lynn Larson, the daughter of Harold and Aileen (Schneider) Larson, was born on July 5, 1953, in Cherokee, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Cherokee where she received her early education and graduated from Washington High School in 1972.. Following her schooling, Joy moved to Colorado and worked at various jobs in the restaurant business in Denver, Loveland, CO, and Colorado Springs, CO. Joy was known for her friendly personality and her willingness to do anything for people. She enjoyed spending time with her pet cat Frankie, whom she loved dearly. On April 7, 2011, Joy passed away unexpectedly at her home in Fountain, CO at the age of 57. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Chris and Stella Schneider and Oscar and Inez Larson. She is survived by her parents, Harold and Aileen Larson of Cherokee, IA; her brothers and sisters: David Larson and his wife Diane of Newton, IA, Douglas Larson and his wife Ginny of St. Louis, MO, Mike Larson and his wife Kathy of Columbus, OH, Nancy Jensen and her husband Charley of Leawood, KS, Karl Larson of Omaha, NE, and Dan Larson and his wife Jodi of Ankeny, IA; nieces and nephews: Carrie James, Stephanie Larson, Angie Larson, Katie Larson, Erika Larson, Caleb Larson, Tom Jensen, Ben Jensen, and Leigh Ann Griffin; as well as other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Gymnasium in Cherokee.

Visitation will be held from 6:30-8:00 P.M. Friday night at Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee.
