Jeannette Langholdt, the daughter of Martin and Elizabeth (Schiltz) Arens was born June 22, 1923, near Remsen, Iowa. Her early childhood years were spent in Remsen where she attended school.
On January 30, 1943, Jeannette was united in marriage to Clarence Langholdt in Le Mars, Iowa. Following their marriage they lived in Le Mars and then Marshalltown, IA. Jeannette worked in the restaurant business and cleaned houses. The couple moved to Cherokee in 1957 and she worked at the lunch program at I.C. School for many years and then worked at the Mental Health Institute for 18 years.
Jeannette was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee, Catholic Daughters of America, and the I.C. Ladies Union. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, dancing, and playing cards. Most of all, Jeannette loved being around her family and friends. She will forever be known as a loving grandmother and fantastic cook.
On December 3, 2011, Jeannette passed away at the Le Mars Good Samaritan Village at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Langholdt; parents, Martin and Elizabeth Arens; two brothers, Bob and Clyde Arens; three sisters, Elaine Mckown, Anita Zimmer, and Betty Price; and two sisters-in-law, Lois Arens and Esther Mungun.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Dennis (Mary Kay) Langholdt of Boone, IA, Terry (Dianna) Langholdt of Cherokee, IA, Randy (Judy) Langholdt of Surprise, AZ, and Rick (Dot) Langholdt of Iowa City, IA; one sister, Ruth Colling of Remsen, IA; four brothers, Floyd Arens of Grass Valley, CA, Marty (Donna) Arens of Le Mars, IA, Tom (Marlene) Arens of Le Mars, IA, and Jim Arens of Le Mars, IA; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; as well as many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral serivces will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, December 9, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at noon on Thursday, with the family present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday night at Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee. There will be a rosary by the Catholic Daughters of America at 4:00 P.M. Thursday and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Thursday night at the funeral home.
