James Arthur Baumann, the son of Art and Eva (Healy) Baumann was born on May 15, 1938 in Marcus, IA. He graduated from Washta Consolidated High School in 1956. He attended one year of college at Westmar College in Le Mars, IA on a baseball scholarship.
On August 22, 1958, Jim was united in marriage to Connie Marsh at Maryhill Visitation Catholic Church. He had worked at Cargill and also for Wilson Foods from October of 1965 until his retirement in 1998
Jim was a lifelong Yankees fan who enjoyed baseball and all sports. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards- especially pinochle, and hunting. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
On September 9, 2012, Jim passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, IA at the age of 74. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Baumann; parents, Art and Eva Baumann; father-in-law, Fred Marsh; and brother-in-law, Ron Marsh.
He will lovingly be remembered by his wife, Connie Baumann of Washta, IA; his children: Jerri Hunt of Cherokee, IA, Deb (Scott) Koch of Cherokee, IA, and Mike Baumann of Washta, IA; grandkids: Melanie (Rod) Hedberg, Ashley, Tony, and Jon Hunt, Samantha, Jared (Kayla), and Matt Koch; three great-grandchildren: Addison and Connor James Hedberg, and Jadyn Etim; siblings: Mary Ann (Mike) Hanson, Tom (Marlene) Baumann, Chuck (Jill) Baumann; mother-in-law: Lamerne Marsh; as well as nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Washta United Methodist Church in Washta, Iowa.
