Georgia Lee Gill

January 16, 1951 — July 7, 2015

Georgia Lee Gill, was born January 16, 1951, the daughter of James and Mary Voneta (Gordon) Gill. She was baptized and confirmed at the Immaculate Conception Church in Cherokee. She graduated from Meriden - Cleghorn High School, class of 1969. She attended college at Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota. After college she made her home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was employed at Sanford Medical Center for 40 years as a Healthcare Unit Coordinator in the OB department. She retired in January of 2013 and returned to rural Meriden to help with the care of her mother. She enjoyed doing crafts, attending Augustana College basketball games and was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan. But most of all she enjoyed the visits from her great-nephews. She is survived by her brother, Greg (Lori) Gill of Meriden, IA; sisters, Gloria (Larry) Fortner of Sun City, AZ, and Gayle (Kenny) George of Meriden, IA; nieces, Renee (Clint) Von Glan of Vail, IA, and Katie Gill of Sioux City, IA; nephews, Ryan (Billie) George of Hawaii, Jonathan (Carolina) George of Omaha, NE, and Gordon Gill of Sioux City, IA; six great-nephews, Kemper, Toby, and Tate George, Benjamin, Cody, and Tyson Von Glan. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
