Frances Ann Rupp, born April 28, 1934, died peacefully in her sleep Saturday afternoon, June 25th, 2022, at her apartment at the Gardens Assisted Living Program. A lifetime resident of Cherokee, she attended Maryhill Country school and graduated from Quimby High School in 1952. She married Richard Rupp on September 1, 1958 and together they raised four children while farming in the Cherokee Community.
Frances was proceeded in death by husband, Richard, and continued to live on their farm until moving to the Gardens. She was also preceded in death by her parents Maydar and Anna Lux, her brothers and sister, Floyd, Orman, Mary Lou, and Paul. She is survived by her four children, Steven Rupp of Cherokee, Diane Rupp of Ames, IA, Janet Remillard of Portland Oregon, Don Rupp of Seattle, Washington and spouses, Aimee Rupp, Dick Remillard and Nate Sawyer. She was very proud of her five grandchildren, Kayla Remillard, Angela Carver, Cory Remillard, Ann Wolterman, and Alecia Rapp. Great grandchildren, Colten, Greysen, and Easten Carver, Harper Remillard, Emma Blade, Caleb Wolterman, Madison and Noah Rapp. She is survived by her brother Joe Lux (friend Mary), her brothers in law, Delbert (Marge) Rupp, Wayne (Ethel) Rupp, and Jack (Ruby) Rupp, plus many nieces and nephews. Frances Ann held close her special friends, Kitty Kohn, Connie Baum, Ken File and his loving family.
Frances was an active member of the Catholic Daughter of America, volunteered and worked at the New Leaf for over 25 years, and could be seen at many(most) garage sales around the county. She also enjoyed her Wednesday Afternoon Club and her neighborhood card club. She found great satisfaction in having a well-trimmed lawn and could be found on her mower whenever there wasn’t snow. Frances was an avid collector of many genres, knew the value of many things, and filled her home with the things she found value in.
Her family and friends will long remember her dry wit, her fierce desire to protect and nurture her family, and her devotion to her church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee.
