Floyd C. Rupp

Floyd Cletus Rupp 94, of Sioux City, Iowa formerly of rural Quimby, Iowa passed away on May 4, 2022 at Sgt Bluff, Iowa. Floyd Cletus Rupp was born on March 13 ,1928, the youngest son of twelve children to George and Mary (Kohns) Rupp. Floyd attended the Maryhill Catholic School and was a longtime member of Maryhill Church. On November  23, 1948 at Maryhill Catholic Church Floyd maried Delores Larsen. They enjoyed 47 years of marriage.

 Floyd and Delores had six children. Mickey, Charlotte, Dale,Gary, Michelle and Randy.

 Floyd followed in the family tradition of farming. He and Delores farmed in the Maryhill area for many years and then moved to a farm in the rural Quimby area. Floyd had a passion for farming and John Deere equipment. He was very proud to own one of the first diesel-powered John Deere tractors in the area. He was a member of Farm Bureau for over 50 years. Floyd was blessed with the gift of gab. He loved a good cup of coffee and conversation with family and friends and enjoyed attending dances, camping and traveling. After retiring from the farm, Floyd moved to Sioux City and married Mary Davis. In retirement, Floyd restored vintage John Deere pedal tractors and gave his children,

grandchildren, and great-grandchildren each their own tractor. Floyd was preceded in death by wives Delores and Mary, infant sons Mickey and Dale, son-in-law Charlie Clark and his parents, brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his daughter Charlotte Clark of Le Mars, Gary (Karen) Rupp of Marcus, Michelle Rupp, of Ogden UT and Randy (Becky) Rupp of Salida, CO: grandchildren Justin (Jessica) Clark, Sarah (Seth) Doup, Kristine (Kyle) Timmins, and Andrew
(Meagan) Rupp; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends.

Floyd worked hard and lived a long life, experiencing many happy times, as well as the sadness of losing loved ones and children. He was a good and honest man. The gates of Heaven shall open and he will rest in peace. Godspeed.

SERVICES
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee.

VISITATION
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
INTERMENT
Maryhill Visitation Cemetery
