Florence was born September 30, 1912 in LeMars, Iowa to William and Blanche (Rice) Cowan. She attended school in LeMars, Iowa, moved to Cherokee, Iowa, graduating from Wilson High School in1930. She later attended one year of business school in Ames, Iowa. On May 7, 1933 she married Harold Timmins in Ames, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1977.
They moved to Cherokee, Iowa where Florence was busy raising her family.
Florence was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, Cherokee Garden Club, and the Cherokee Country Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, and flower arranging, and entertaining.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Nadolski, and Joseph Cohen, of Las Vegas, Nevada; 5 grandchildren, Michael Nadolski, and his wife, Lauren, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Susan Nadolski, and her husband, Patrick Maxwell, of Riverside, California; Stacy Wittrock, and her husband, Jerod, of Iowa City, Iowa; Patrice Noble, and her husband, Lance, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Ron Mortenson, of San Antonio, Texas; and 6 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Barb Timmins, of Cherokee, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 children (Robert Timmins, Mary Ann Timmins, David Timmins) 7 brothers and 1 sister.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held Monday February 1, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Sunday, with the family present from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday night at Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee. A Rosery will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon and a prayer service will be held starting at 7:00 P.M. Sunday night also at Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee.
