Evalyn Maxine Culler Pease, the daughter of Curtis and Orpha (Baker) Culler was born April 24, 1918 near Pierson, Iowa. She was raised on small farms close to Pierson and graduated from Grand Meadow School in 1935. She married William (Bill) Pease on February 10, 1938, beginning a marriage that lasted 72 years.
Love within the family was everything to her, and she taught every one of her descendants the importance of unconditional love. She had 4 children, Mary Lou Hanson of Omaha, NE, Diana Herbold of Sioux City, Carol Rutter (dec.), and Jim Pease and his wife Darcy Meeker of Blacksburg, VA; 7 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren, son-in-law Tom Rutter and his wife Linda Rutter of Cherokee, sister Mildred King of Guthrie Center, and sister-in-law Charlotte Brownlee of Fairfield, IA.
On December 7, 2011, Evalyn passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and daughter Carol, her sisters Marjorie Harm and Wilma Chinn and brother Maurice Culler.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, December 7, 2011, at the Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee.
