Dorothy Helen Bush, the daughter of Oscar and Hilma (Johnson) Lindgren was born on November 22, 1926 in rural Tilden Township in Cherokee, IA. Her childhood years were spent near Meriden, IA where she attended school and graduated from Meriden High School in 1944.
On July 2, 1946, she was united in marriage to Orville (Mike) Bush at the Maryhill Catholic Church. Dorothy worked in food service for the Meriden school and at the Mental Health Institute. She also worked at K-Mart.
Dorothy was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughter's of America. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crossword puzzles, and solitaire. Most of all she enjoyed her daily cups of coffee and spending time with her family and friends.
On March 27, 2016, Dorothy passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Hilma Lindgren; husband Mike Bush in 1980; son, Tony Bush in 2003; brothers, Paul in 1959, Le Roy in infancy, Holgar in 1991, and Harry in 2003.
She is survived by her children: Catherine (Rick) Irvine of Spokane, WA, Steve (Anna) Bush of Cherokee, IA, Paul (Colleen) Bush of Des Moines, IA, Christine Stevens of Council Bluffs, IA, and Mia Bush (Bill Kaemmer) of Washington DC; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice Odle; sisters-in law, Phyllis Lindgren, and Marguerite Osterling; and many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday night at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee. There will be a Catholic Daughter's Rosary at 4:00 p.m. Thursday and a 7:00 p.m. prayer service Thursday night at the funeral home.
