Doris M. Dunn

Doris M. Dunn, the daughter of Emery G. and Mary E. (Zembsch) Goodrich, was born October 15, 1926 in Cleghorn, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Cleghorn where she attended school and graduated from Cleghorn High School. Following high school, Doris went to work for the battery factory in Sioux City, IA. On November 29, 1945, Doris was united in marriage to James Darrell Dunn at her home in Cleghorn. Doris and Darrell moved to the family farm near Meriden, where she helped farm and raise their family. Doris loved to research genealogy in her free time. She also helped with the Cherokee County Historical Society, was a member of the Meriden PTA, enjoyed watching her children's and grandchildren's activities, and attending Associated Milk Producers Incorporated functions with her husband. Most of all Doris enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. On December 16, 2013, Doris passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Mary Goodrich; her husband, Darrell Dunn; one brother, Lawrence Goodrich; one brother-in-law, Lyle McIntosh; in-laws: Roy (Frances Dunn) Sechler, Herman (Alice Dunn) Broderson, Raymond (Eveline) Dunn, Daniel Dunn, Harold (Ellen) Dunn, and Don (Charlene) Mongan. She will lovingly be remembered by her children and spouses: Gerald (Sharon) Dunn of Fort Dodge, IA, Timothy (Diane) Dunn of Aurelia, IA, Michael (Pam) Dunn of Meriden, IA, David (Deborah A.) of Cherokee, IA, Lori (Terry) Claussen of Le Mars, IA, and Douglas (Deborah D.) Dunn of Cherokee, IA; 15 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; two sisters, Bernice McIntosh of Cleghorn, IA, and Patricia (Dewey) Behrens of Meriden, IA; one sister-in-law, Claudia Goodrich of Ankeny, IA; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
