Donnabeth Bressler Schwier, the daughter of George and Venice (Hayne) Bressler was born January 21, 1932 in Wayne, NE. Her childhood years were spent in Wayne where she graduated from high school. She attended Nebraska State Teacher College where she obtained a two year degree.
On August 12, 1951, Donnabeth was united in marriage to Lynnn Schwier at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayne, Nebraska. Following their marriage she taught kindergarten in South Sioux City, Nebraska from 1951-1952.
Donnabeth enjoyed music throughout her life, singing in chorus in high school, concert chorus at Nebraska State College, and sang in the Messiah for six years. She especially loved singing in church each Sunday to familiar songs. Donnabeth loved the old favorites to end the service and start her work week.
Her career included working at Gay Theater in Wayne, NE for three years and for Fashionette in Cherokee, IA for many years.
Donnabeth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Cherokee Tone Circle, and Sorority. She loved to entertain for Lynn's teachers and especially loved it when all her family was gathered around the table. She was an excellent cook and her meals were enjoyed by four growing boys.
On August 2, 2015, Donnabeth passed away at Countryside Estates at the age of 83. She is survived by her husband, Lynn Schwier of Cherokee, IA; sons: Steven (Wanda) Schwier of Atlantic, Iowa, Scott (Karen) Schwier of New Hampton, IA, Bret (Cindy) Schwier of Elk Point, SD, and Craig of Perryton, TX; grandchildren: Alana (Ryan) Brown, Seth (Kassidi) Schwier, Jaime (Brock) Frahm, Matt (Audrey) Schwier, Timothy (Cassie) Schwier, Carrie (John) Taylor, Paul (Ashley Block) Schwier, and Jennifer (Justin Buendia) Schwier; 17 great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; George Zachariah Bressler; mother Venice Margarite Bressler Miller; stepfather, Ezra Edward Miller; one grandson, Tyler James Ronnei; one brother, Franklin Bressler; father-in-law, William Schwier; mother-in-law, Winifred Schwier; three brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.
SERVICES
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa.

VISITATION
Public visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday night at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee. There will be a 7:00 p.m. prayer service following the visitation at the funeral home.
